Summary

There appears to be some form of rectilinear enclosure, consisting of earthwork banks visible on the 1946 RAF aerial photographs and possibly on the 1970 OS aerial photographs. It may also be able to be seen on the 1973 CUCAP images (although, here it is rather less clear). The date and origin of these features are unknown. Also nearby there appears to be some linear ditches and a possible couple of banks visible on these aerial photographs and on NLA images from 1978. However, it is possible that these linear ditches are actually to do with more recent drainage.

Map

October 2002. Norfolk NMP.
There appears to be some form of rectilinear enclosure, consisting of earthwork banks visible on the 1946 RAF aerial photographs (S1) and possibly on the1970 OS aerial photographs (S2). It may also be able to be seen on the 1973 CUCAP images (S3) (although, here it is rather less clear). The date and origin of these features are unknown. Also nearby there appears to be some linear ditches and a possible couple of banks visible on these aerial photographs and on NLA images from 1978 (S4). However, it is possible that these linear ditches are actually to do with more recent drainage. (The whole site is centred on TF9452 4006).
The enclosure is centred at NGR TF9449 4011 and is about 20m x 20m in size. There appears to be the remains of some form of subdivision as a short stretch of bank runs out from the eastern side towards the centre of the enclosure. There also seems to be a potential entrance to the north west. Either the break in the banks here indicates less good preservation or the possible location of an entrance.
(It is possible that there are further ditched features in this area, but as they are indistinct they have not been plotted).
