Summary

This extremely elaborate hall and parlour, with stack between and rooms above, dates to the early 16th century. It was apparently added to an older building, separately framed, that was taken over as a service cell. The medieval stair from this earlier building is reused in the main house at attic level and the new entrance was probably provided in the 18th/19th century. The building has been subject to numerous alterations in the mid 20th century including reroofing, and reconstruction of most of the older section utilising beams from an adjacent barn (NHER 7008).
