Summary

Metal-detecting between 2003 and 2025 recovered a Late Iron Age/Roman pottery sherd; Iron Age, Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins; a medieval jetton and a range of other, Bronze Age to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include a Late Bronze Age spearhead and socketed axehead; an Iron Age brooch; Roman brooches, nail cleaners, a cosmetic spatula or spoon and furniture fitting; fragments of several Early Saxon brooches; part of a Late Saxon bridle; a medieval dress fastener, finger ring, and belt mount and a post-medieval finger-ring, pendent weight, sword belt hanger, dress fastener, casket key and keyhole escutcheon plate.
