Summary

This 19th century house has late 19th century bay windows and 20th century rear extensions. Attached to the north, at an angle, is a small wing or cottage now used as a garage. This early 18th century building is built of clunch, brick and flint. The east gable wall contains lumps of stone from the cladding of Branodunum Roman fort (NHER 1001).

Brancaster House
Formerly known as White House. Shown on (S1) but cannot be much older than that; (S2) shows a building on a different alignment. Present main house (19th century core, late 19th century bay windows, 20th century extensions) attached on north at an angle, is small wing or cottage now gutted as garage, built of clunch, brick and flint; west gable has bricks with diagonal skintlings (pre 1770 and probably early 18th century) and east gable wall contains lumps of Castle Rising stone from the cladding of the Roman fort walls, also ironbound conglomerate.
