Summary

Metal detecting at this location in 2004 recovered an early post medieval copper alloy spur buckle. The buckle had an angled asymmetrical frame with one rounded outside edge with the other edge slightly trapezoidal.

Early post medieval copper alloy spur buckle, angled asymmetrical frame with one rounded outside edge with broken perforated lobe as pin rest, the other edge is slightly trapezoidal, narrowed central bar projects beyond frame, plate comprises folded oval sheet with slot containing fragment of iron pin, and terminating in shoulder hook, frame 27 x 21mm. 17th century.
