Iron Age/Roman silver one-piece Colchester brooch, spring, chord and pin missing, the foot bent forward, the catchplate crumpled. On both wings and the bow are pairs of shallow vertical flutes, each one gilt, with straight-sided non-gilded bands between them. The bow and foot are of flat section, wider than the normal Colchester. The sides are almost parallel before curving to the terminal. The catchplate has two perforations, one very small. Length approximately 35mm. Wingspan 12.5mm. Early to mid 1st century AD.
