Summary

This two storey 17th century timber-framed house may have began life as a late medieval hall house. The listed description of an ovolo moulded beam (late 16th-17th century) in the parlour and plain beam in the hall tends to confirm this.

May 2004.
However the building was seen in passing and looks very like a hallhouse where the parlour end has been rebuilt or added, including a stack, and rises above the hall roof. The diary is probably a later addition or might be the service cell with altered roof. The description of an ovolo moulded beam (late 16th-17th century) in the parlour and plain beam in the hall tends to confirm this, but an internal inspection is required.
