Full Description
Norfolk NMP, May 2003.
There appears to be cropmarks of a possible rectilinear/square enclosure visible on the BKS aerial photographs from 1988 (S1). It can also possibly be faintly made out on RAF 1946 aerial photographs (S2-3). The site is centred at around TG1525 4113. The date and origin of this feature are unknown. Although this enclosure appears fairly clear and distinct on the BKS images the two east west sides do run in line with tramlines in the crop, although they are darker. Therefore, there is the possibility that these are due to this and not the ditch sides of an enclosure.
There also appears to be further possible cropmarks visible within the enclosure (these are quite indistinct and so have not been plotted), and two possible linears just to the west and south. These run from TG15224119 to TG1521 4111 and TG1522 4110 to TG1522 4107 respectively. However, all these features including the enclosure are not certain.
H. Clare (NMP), 28 May 2003.
