Map

May 2003. NMP.
A series of undated linear ditches forming field boundaries and a possible enclosure, visible as cropmarks on 1961 Meridian Airmaps vertical aerial photographs.
In the southern end of the field are a series of fragmentary east to west and north to south aligned ditches, forming possible rectangular enclosures or fields (S1). In the north of the area are some fragmentary northwest to southeast aligned ditches (S1). These features may simply be late medieval or post medieval land boundaries and drains, but they are not in alignment with the 19th century field system (S2) in this area, and they may be considerably earlier in date.
M. Brennand (NMP), 28 May 2003.
