Summary

Metal-detecting between 2004 and 2013 recovered medieval to post-medieval pottery sherds; medieval roof tile fragments; Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins; medieval to post-medieval jettons and tokens and Roman to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include a Roman spoon fragment and pin; an Early Saxon brooch, ring and strap fitting; a Middle Saxon pin and stirrup strap mount; a Middle/Late Saxon brooch, hooked tag and medical implement; a Late Saxon or post-medieval unusual elongated knife handle decorated with a snake or dragon's head; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories including a very unusual medieval buckle decorated with an animal head; medieval brooches, seal matrices, a coin weight, key, padlock, thimble, lead pilgrim badge, binding strip from a box or casket and harness fittings, mounts and pendants; a medieval/post-medieval die, thimble, rivet, purse bar and copper alloy vessel fragments and a post-medieval balance, bell, candle snuffer, finger ring, rowel spur, seal, knife handle and several book clasps.
