Summary

Three post-medieval parish boundary banks and stones were recorded during a Rapid Earthwork Survey for Forest Enterprise. The earthworks are depicted on historic Ordnance Survey mapping, were examined on the ground in 2004, and appeared in a LiDAR survey flown in 2015. The mapped extent has been based on the earthworks visible in the LiDAR survey.

November 2016. 'Brecks from Above' and Breckland National Mapping Programme.
The post-medieval banks described above are visible as earthworks on lidar imagery (S2). As they are aligned with the parish boundary and a modern track, and in the case of the central and southern bank depicted on historic Ordnance Survey maps (S3), they have not been mapped. The polygon defining their extent, however, has been amended to more closely match the location of the features as visible on the lidar [1]. The lidar survey was flown in 2015, and it is very likely that the banks still survive.
S. Tremlett (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 9 November 2016.
