Full Description
September 2004. Norfolk NMP.
A group of cropmark linear features of unknown date are visible on aerial photographs (S1) on the arable land within Cromer Park (NHER 33460). The site is centred on TG 2149 4135. The cropmarks appear to consist of several ditches that intersect one another and do not appear to share any common alignment. It is likely that these linears relate to medieval to post medieval field or park boundaries, possibly of several phases, although they may date to earlier periods. Other cropmarks and earthwork boundaries are visible within the rest of the Park, see NHER 33460 for details. The actual cropmarks were not mapped as the features only showed on the very edge of aerial photographs and therefore sufficient mapping control was not available. An extent of area on the NMP map shows the approximate positioning of the cropmarks.
S. Massey (NMP), 27 September 2004.
