Full Description
October 2004. Norfolk NMP.
A partially buried structure of unknown date is visible in 1941 near to the seawall at the western end of Cromer promenade (S1). It seems likely that this relates to a World War Two structure that had been destroyed or acted as part of a beach defence. It is also possible that it is part of a wreck, potentially also dating to World War Two. The fragmentary structure, possibly a concrete construction, is located at TG 2135 4248. The visible section is 7m long and 4m wide at one end, the rest appears to be obscured by sediment. The feature appears to be too large and angular to be marine debris.
S. Massey (NMP), 14 October 2004.
