Full Description
October 2004. Norfolk NMP.
A World War Two barbed wire obstruction is visible on aerial photographs taken in 1943 (S1), from TG 2679 3969 to TG 2706 3950. The line of the barbed wire may be reflected by the extent of ploughing on aerial photographs taken in 1942 (S2) and 1946 (S3). The obstruction forms part of the World War Two coastal defences for the area. It might perhaps be the 'wire fence' erected to prevent access to the beach at Trimingham, which was mined (S4).
S. Tremlett (NMP), 20 October 2004.
