Summary

A possible enclosure is visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs. The enclosure is only partially visible and in the absence of any other evidence its date and function remain uncertain. It is situated on a spur of land overlooking Fox's Beck and Lower Street to its south and could date to any period from the Neolithic to the post medieval. There is nothing to indicate that it is associated with another cropmark site, NHER 36489, 150m to its north. Furthermore, it is visible on only one set of aerial photographs and without corroborative evidence the possibility that the cropmark is the product of modern agricultural activity rather than an archaeological feature cannot be ruled out.
