A cropmark of a sinuous curvilinear ditch of probable Bronze Age or Iron Age date is visible on aerial photographs (S1-3). This cropmark is centred on TG 3058 3364 and was previously recorded as part of NHER 12818. The ditch extends for a distance of approximately 280m on a sinuous curving course between TG 3047 3373 and TG 3071 3362 before turning sharply northwards for a further 30m. This cropmark is typical of curvilinear prehistoric boundary ditches and is likely to be of Bronze Age or Iron Age date. Cropmarks various later periods cut across this ditch. Among these is a ring ditch cropmark of a medieval to post medieval post mill (NHER 39049). The mill may have been constructed on an existing round barrow which in turn may have sited on the boundary represented by this ditch.
