Summary

Metal-detecting between 2004 and 2022 recovered prehistoric worked flints, including a Neolithic/Bronze Age scraper; Iron Age, Roman, medieval and post-medieval pottery sherds; Late Iron Age/Roman (Roman issue), Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins; post-medieval tokens and a range of other, Late Saxon to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include a Roman key handle; a Late Saxon bridle fitting; a medieval buckle, horse harness pendant, copper alloy seal matrix, lead spindle whorl and lead ampulla; medieval/post-medieval copper alloy vessel fragments, a buckle frame, book clasp, copper alloy ring and post-medieval buckles, a crotal bell and strap mount.
