Full Description
December 2004. Norfolk NMP.
Cropmarks of post medieval field boundaries are visible on aerial photographs (S1). These cropmarks are centred on TG 3391 3391. Cropmarks of banks and ditches extend for 430m on a southwest to northeast alignment between TG 3371 3381 to TG 3411 3398. The central section of this boundary is visible as a cropmark of a bank flanked by a ditch on each side. The eastern section appears only as a ditch. These two sections of the boundary are shown on the Bacton enclosure map of 1827 (S2). The western section of the boundary appears as a bank but is not depicted on the enclosure, or later, maps. However, it is clear that it is contemporary with the known post medieval boundary that continues to its east.
