Full Description
January 2005. Norfolk NMP.
Curvilinear ditch cropmarks of unknown date are visible on aerial photographs (S1-2). These cropmarks are located at TG 3328 3254 and were previously recorded as NHER 7005 (context 7). The largest of the two cropmarks, located at TG 3329 3256, forms a curved L-shape measuring 26m by 17m. The visible cropmark is too fragmentary to allow is original form and extent to be determined, but it is possible that it is part of an enclosure of unknown date. The second cropmark is located at TG 3327 3253 and has a curved V-shape plan. This is probably the D-shaped enclosure originally recorded under NHER 7005 context 7. However, it appears that the D-shape was partly formed by other unrelated linear cropmarks of probable Roman date (NHER 39212). The appearance of this curvilinear cropmark is not entirely convincing and it could be of natural geological origin.
