Map

January 2005. Norfolk NMP.
Cropmarks of two parallel ditches, representing post medieval woodland and field boundaries are visible on aerial photographs (S1-2). These cropmarks are centred on TG 3294 3253. Two parallel ditch cropmarks extend for up to 200m between TG 3285 3251 and TG 3304 3255. These ditches are spaced 14m apart and correspond to woodland and field boundaries shown on the Witton enclosure map of 1827 (S3). However, they had been removed by the time of the tithe map in 1841 (S4). The woodland was called 'Bacton Strips' (S5). These cropmarks are cut by a modern gas pipeline at TG 3289 3252.
