A cropmark of a small D-shaped enclosure is visible on aerial photographs (S1). This cropmark is located at TG 3358 3177. The enclosure is D-shaped in plan and measures a maximum of 15m by 11m externally with a 1m wide ditch. The date and function of this cropmark is uncertain but it may be associated with the Early Saxon settlement to the north (NHER 1009) or prehistoric features in the vicinity (NHER 27238, 6979 context 2, 29753). An excavated pot boiler site 120m to the southeast appeared to be surrounded by a ditch (NHER 6980 context 4) and it is possible that this cropmark also relates to a similar site. Pot boilers have been found 60m to the south of this cropmark (NHER 1009 context 147).
