Map

January 2005. Norfolk NMP.
Cropmarks of a possible rectilinear enclosure or moat are visible on aerial photographs (S1-2). These cropmarks are centred on TG 3312 3128. Three sides of a possible rectilinear enclosure are visible as cropmarks. The enclosure is located adjacent to a modern field boundary that appears to form its fourth side. Its external dimensions are 40m by 43m with a ditch measuring up to 5m wide. A gap is present in the ditch in the northwest corner, possibly representing an entrance. It is possible that this is a small square enclosure or moat of unknown date. However, its topographic location, on a small ridge, makes it unlikely that it is a moat. Pot boilers have previously been recorded from this location (NHER 6956 context 9) although they need not necessarily be associated with this cropmark.
See (S1-2).
