Summary

Two rectilinear embanked enclosures are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs. They are marked on some modern Ordnance Survey maps as sludge beds, presumably associated with the waterworks to their east. They are not visible on aerial photographs taken before 1964, indicating that they are of modern origin.

Map

February 2005. Norfolk NMP.
Two rectilinear embanked enclosures are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs (e.g. S1), centred at TG 4721 1527. They were recorded as enclosures of unknown date and function (NMR TG 41 NE 43) during preparatory work for the RCHME/NLA Earthwork Survey. They are marked as sludge beds on some modern maps and their absence on aerial photographs taken before 1964 (e.g. S2) indicates that they are of modern origin.
