Summary

Fieldwalking and metal-detecting between 2004 and 2018 recovered a large collection of prehistoric worked flints, including Neolithic/Early Bronze Age scrapers; a medieval pottery sherd; Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins, a post-medieval jetton; and Middle/Late Saxon to post-medieval metal objects. The prehistoric worked flints include a Mesolithic/Neolithic adze and pick; Neolithic scrapers, borers, sickles, hammerstones, a knife and an awl; Neolithic/Bronze Age scrapers, flakes, a borer and a notched tool and a late prehistoric blade, flake, borer and knife. The metal objects include a Middle/Late Saxon brooch; Late Saxon to post-medieval spindle whorls; medieval buckles, a lead weight, strap-end and harness pendant; medieval/post-medieval weights, a hooked tag, and a button; and a post-medieval harness mount and buckle.
