Full Description
May-November 2004. Norfolk Rapid Coastal Zone Archaeological Survey.
Inter-tidal survey (Environmental Zone 8), Context 1028:
A revetment composed of ten roundwood and planked timber posts was found embedded in estuarine mud. It was located to the east of a modern sea defence bank and was probably part of the internal structure of an earlier bank (and possibly part of a bank (NHER 26770) shown on maps dating to 1822 and 1825 (in (S1)).
See assessment report (S2) for further details.
The associated archive has been deposited with the Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 2017.421).
J. Allen (NLA), 15 April 2005. Amended by P. Watkins (HES), 21 July 2019.
