Inter-tidal survey (Environmental Zone 11), Context 55:
A wreck was found firmly embedded in the eastern bank of Blakeney New Cut. Only the prow of the boat was visible (a section measuring 3.2m by 3.6m), with the rest buried. It was mostly built of wooden planks and had an iron plated keel. Fragments of melted glass (possibly from burnt bottles or remnants of glass working) were collected from the mud around the wreck. No evidence seen of burning on wreck itself.
