Summary

A plaque on the face of the modern seawall and promenade commemorates the construction of a sea wall in 1895. It is probable that elements of this late 19th century sea wall are incorporated into the modern one.

The modern concrete seawall and promenade were recorded. The modern concrete structure probably covered an earlier example; a plaque commemorating the construction of the sea wall in 1895 by H.M. Upcher suggested this.
