Full Description
May-November 2004. Norfolk Rapid Coastal Zone Archaeological Survey.
Inter-tidal survey (Environmental Zone 22), Context 256:
The ruins of a Second World War building was found on and within the dune face. The ruins included sections of walling, loose bricks and concrete fragments. Some of the bricks were stamped ‘LBC PHORPRES 6’.

The location and character of the building material described above suggests that it probably derived from the structures and buildings that formed part of a World War Two Coastal Artillery Searchlight Battery and its associated defences (NHER 42454). The Type 24 pillbox mapped at TG 5013 1910 is the most likely candidate.
