Summary

There appears to be some form of ridge and furrow visible along side the River Glaven, near to the village of Wiveton. It is not classic ridge and furrow, exhibiting possible water meadow type features, but this is not certain as channels and sluices are not visible. These features can be seen on aerial photographs taken in 1946, 1969 and 1995. The date is not certain, but it seems likely to be post medieval.

Map

March 2003. Norfolk NMP.
There appears to be some form of ridge and furrow visible along side the River Glaven, near to the village of Wiveton. It is not classic ridge and furrow, instead exhibiting possible water meadow type features, but this is not certain as channels and sluices are not visible. These features can be seen on Ordnance Survey aerial photographs from 1995 (S1), Hunting Survey aerial photographs from 1969 (S2) and faintly on RAF aerial photographs from 1946 (S3).
The site is centred on NGR TG 0448 4296. There are at least three areas/patches visible. These are what have been mapped, though there is the possibility of more in places along the river, though these are indistinct and so uncertain.
The date is not certain, but it seems likely to be post medieval.
