Full Description
Mid 19th century shop and flat, red brick, red and black pantiles. Two storeys and attics, Three sash windows to façade with segmental arches over double shop front. Pilasters flank windows. Doors each end with consoles. Left hand fanlight with GLASS AND CHINA in 19th century lettering. Corbelled brick eaves, parapet gable left, end stacks, two gabled dormers.

In 1915 the shop was authorised to house the local telephone exchange and call office. It started out with 8 lines on a manual switchboard. By 1941 there were over 77 lines and the service was made automatic and transferred to a new UAX13 station at TG098228.
