Summary

A post medieval house, now subdivided into two. 8 The Street dates to around 1700, whereas 10 The Street dates to around 1800. The house is built of brick, although inside 10 The Street there are wallplates which may suggest it may originally have been timber framed. In January 2006 the building was gutted by fire.

Currently two buildings, 8 and 10 The Street are structurally one house. The exterior of the houses is brick, although wallplates observed inside may suggest a timber framed origin (if the plates are not reused). No. 8 appears to have been rebuilt of recased brick seomtime around 1700 while No. 10 was rebuilt in brick around 1800, retaining the original wallplates.

The building was gutted by fire in early January 2006. The interior could not be assessed immediately after the fire, but the roof was gutted.
