Summary

An archaeological evaluation here in 2005 revealed the remains of a post medieval cellar and post medieval industrial waste pits. Additionally, the location of an 18th or 19th century Baptist Chapel and associated burial ground (NHER 40707) were established by this work.

August-September 2005. Trial Trenching and Building Survey.
Evaluation of proposed development site and identification and recording of remains of Baptist Chapel. Contexts 1-58 used.
The two trial trenches excavated revealed the remains of a post-medieval cellar and post-medieval industrial waste pits.
The location of the 18th- or 19th-century Baptist Chapel and that of its associated burial ground (considerably disturbed during 1960s construction of present commercial premises) were also established.
