Map

Originated as Rose Cottage in 1660, extended in Georgian brick in the early 19th century.
Large and imposing conservatory built in 1836.
Coach house to west with turret clock of 1856 by Wenham of Watton, now in tower dated 1980.
(S1) refers to an 'annexe' which seems to be part of the coach house, which it calls a 17th century one room store made of clay lump.
However, no evidence is given to support the date of 1660 and the plan is that of a typical 19th century house.
True clay lump was not invented until around 1800.
See (S1) in file.
E. Rose (NLA), 9 May 2005.
