Summary

A probable wreck of unknown date is visible as a structure on aerial photographs taken between 1964 and 1989. It was also recorded on the ground during a walkover survey undertaken in 2004. It lies in the inter-tidal zone of Breydon Water, on the southern edge of the Yare channel, and could have been placed here to revet the channel edge. Its fairly intact state on the consulted aerial photographs suggests that it is of relatively recent origin.

May 2006. Norfolk NMP.
The remains of a post-built structure described above are almost certainly part of a wreck, which is visible as an extant structure on aerial photographs (S2)-(S4), centred at approximately TG 5038 0746. The relatively intact state of the wreck suggests that it is probably late post-medieval or modern in date. It may have been placed (or abandoned) at this location to consolidate the southern edge of the Yare channel.
S. Tremlett (NMP), 31 May 2006.
