Summary

Three World War Two anti tank cubes are visible on aerial photographs taken in 1944. They block access under a former railway bridge and were presumably intended to impede the progress of an invading force. A similar barrier is visible at another railway bridge to the northeast (NHER 27414). The blocks were removed before or soon after the end of the war.

Map

July 2005. Norfolk NMP.
Three World War Two anti tank cubes are visible on aerial photographs (S1), centred at TG 5204 0862. They block a track under a former railway bridge and were presumably intended to impede a tank and other vehicles in the event of an invasion. Later aerial photographs indicate that they were probably removed by August 1945 and certainly by July 1946.
