Full Description
July 2005. Norfolk NMP.
A World War Two air raid shelter is visible as an earth and vegetation covered structure on aerial photographs (S1) and (S2), centred at TG 5216 0772. It appears to consist of two or more long segments laid side by side, each with a curved or parabola shaped profile, and may in fact be two individual but conjoined shelters. The shelter (or shelters) is oriented east to west and presumably had entrances at both its east and west ends as each is protected by a blast wall. It was probably used by the inhabitants of nearby houses. More recent aerial photographs indicate that it has been levelled since the end of the war.
S. Tremlett (NMP), 25 July 2005.
