Map

May 2005. Trial Trenching.
Evaluation of proposed development site. Two trial trenches, Contexts 101-207 used.
A series of boundary or drainage ditches of Roman date revealed in Trench 1.
The foundations of a 19th century structure revealed in Trench 2.
Although no direct evidence for pre-19th century occupation on the site was revealed, the presence of a significant amount of heavily abraded Romano-British ceramic building material in the drainage ditches suggests the presence of at least one substantial structure of this period in the vicinity.
