Map

July 2005. Watching Brief.
Monitoring of groundworks associated with construction of Vole Receptor Pond as part of the A11 Attleborough Bypass Improvement Scheme.
These excavations revealed a number of ditches and several possible pits and post-holes, none of which produced any dating evidence. Four ditches were recorded, three aligned east-to-west and one north-to-south. The orientations of these features suggest they were probably not of great antiquity.
Unstratified finds were limited to two Early Neolithic flint blades.
See report (S1) for further details. The results of the work associated with this project are also summarised in (S2).
An archive associated with this work has been deposited with Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 2025.173).
