Map

August 2005. Norfolk NMP.
A possible World War Two air raid shelter is visible as a structure on aerial photographs (S1), centred at approximately TG 5272 0687. The small structure is just visible in the back garden of a terraced house. This location, its small size and its probably curvilinear shape in profile suggest that it may be an Anderson shelter or a shelter built to a similar design. Small shelters of this type were generally intended for the use of a single family or household and were often sited in gardens, as is the case here. The entire area has been levelled since the end of the war and is now occupied by a public or communal garden.
S. Tremlett (NMP), 26 August 2005.
