Full Description
June 1981. Listed, Grade II.
Listing Description:
Probably early 18th century. Plastered timber-frame cottage range. Steep pantile roof with gabled ends. North-west end 18th century brick faced with stepped gable and chimney stack. One storey and attic (attic window in gable end). Long range with 5 casement windows. Later lean-tos at each end and at rear.

Small timber framed house, 18th century, yet east end retained traditional hall and services plan with gable stack; west end added soon afterwards, single cell with gable stack. Reused beam of around 1600 in older section. Important example of late timber framing on traditional lines.

Timber-framed semi detached pair of cottages, dated by inscription on rafter 1791 with initials IS. Earlier (c.1640) returned brick gable-end with stack and crow-stepped parapet. Ovolo-moulded re-used joist. Probably a single cell house originally, similar to NHER 19254.
