Map

September 2005. Norfolk NMP.
A possible inter-tidal structure or pair of linear features may be visible on aerial photographs, exposed by the scour on the beach at Sea Palling after the 1953 floods (S1). The site is centred on TG 4311 2742 and consists of two small L-shaped linear features, which are both around 10m long and may possibly represent wooden or post built structures poking out of the exposed surface. It is also possible that they are former groyne components. Although an archaeological origin is not definite and it is possible that both of the marks are defining the edge of the stratigraphic layers such as peats and clays exposed by the storm scour, see NHER 27322 for discussion.
S. Massey (NMP), 28 September 2005.
