NHER 27661 (Monument record) - Possible post medieval drainage ditches

Cropmarks of undated ditches, possibly drainage ditches, are visible on aerial photographs (S1). These cropmarks are centred on TG 4762 1447. A roughly northnorthwest to southsoutheast aligned ditch extends for 170m between TG 4753 1456 and TG 4760 1441. At its southern end it forms a T junction with a westsouthwest to eastnortheast aligned ditch. This ditch continued on this alignment for 78m before turning to the southeast and continuing for a further 70m. A third ditch on a roughly parallel westsouthwest to eastnortheast alignment was also present to its north. The alignment of these ditches does not correspond to the modern field pattern. These cropmarks may relate to field boundary or drainage ditches of an unknown, but possibly post medieval, date.
