Full Description
September 2005. Norfolk NMP.
Two World War Two bomb craters are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs (S1) and (S2), centred at TG 5259 0618. Their similar size and appearance suggests that they were probably created during a single raid. The intended target is likely to have been the gas works 50m to the southeast (NHER 32731), one of the Luftwaffe’s principal targets within Great Yarmouth (S3). More recent aerial photographs indicate that they have been levelled since the end of the war.
S. Tremlett (NMP), 30 September 2005.
