Summary

This Roman Catholic church was built by J. C. Buckler during 1834-41, funded by the Stafford family of Costesssey Hall, for the Irish immigrants they had brought in to work the estate. It is the sixth oldest purpose built Roman Catholic church in the Diocese of East Angia. It is constructed from brick with lancet windows. It has a seven bay nave, vestigial two bay chancel; west organ gallery of three bays of stone and small narthex.
