Summary

In 1973 two Palaeolithic flint handaxes and a waste flake were recovered on Mousehold Heath. These were not the first Palaeolithic discoveries on Mousehold Heath: see NHER 468 for details of a handaxe recovered approximately 500m to the south-east and NHER 469 for details of several unprovenanced objects found during the early 20th century.

Found on Mousehold Heath in "ravine" side in gravels:
2 Palaeolithic flint handaxes and 1 "waste flake".
Seen by T. Clough and E. B. Green (NCM), 1973. Information from (S1).
These discoveries were reported in (S2) and are also listed on (S3) and in (S4) and (S5), although no additional information is given.
One of the handaxes was subsequently donated to the Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 2001.227.3).
