Map

September 2005. Norfolk NMP.
A group of linear cropmarks, possibly representing post medieval field boundaries and a trackway of unknown date, are visible on aerial photographs, within arable land to the east of Beach Road, Sea Palling (S1). The site is centred on TG 4300 2706 and consists of two sets of parallel linear ditches. Both sets of ditches are approximately 4m apart and one pair run from approximately TG 4302 2712 to TG 4300 2704 and the second pair run from approximately TG 4307 2711 to TG 4305 2708. A single ditch to the south possibly continues the line of this second linear feature. This shares a similar alignment to the post medieval field boundaries marked on the Ordnance Survey First Edition map (6 inch,1879 to 1886) (S2) and therefore may also be a boundary or trackway of this date. A third ditch also follows this alignment to the west. The possible post medieval field boundary feature is crossed by an additional linear ditch, which also possibly has a double ditched component, again possibly indicating a trackway.
