Full Description
October 2005. Norfolk NMP.
A cropmark of an incomplete rectilinear enclosure, of possible Roman date, is visible on aerial photographs (S1). This cropmark is located at TG 4905 1182. Three sides of a possible rectilinear enclosure are visible as cropmarks. The enclosure is roughly rectangular in plan with rounded corners. It measures 74m by at least 54m and lies on a southwest to northeast axis. This enclosure lies on a similar alignment to a Roman field system 400m to the northeast (NHER 13004) and could be of the same date. It overlaps cropmarks of undated ditches and possible field boundaries (NHER 42088).
J. Albone (NMP), 18 October 2005
