NHER 38266 (Cropmark and Earthwork record) - Medieval to post medieval field boundaries

Group of linear features visible on Ordnance Survey aerial photographs from 1994 (S1). Two slightly curvilinear parallel ditches run from approximately TG 1245 4231 to TG 1228 4233 and are between 4.5m to 7.5m apart and 175m long. This appears to be trackway possibly providing access to the wooded area to the south and east. To the north and south of this trackway are several linear features that seem to define two large roughly rectangular areas, approximately 200m by 80m. These ditches are consistent with the field boundaries marked on the 2nd edition map (1902-7, 25 inch) (S2). This would indicate that the date of the field boundaries mapped is probably post medieval in date, although they may date back to the late medieval period.
