Map

November 2003. Norfolk NMP.
A group of three World War Two pits are visible on RAF aerial photographs from 1946 (S1) and 1950 (S2). The pits are either side of a trackway running across Muckleburgh Hill and centred on TG 1004 4306. The largest and northern pit is situated at TG 1004 4306 and measures 5m by 2.25m. The southern pits are located at TG 1004 4305, 3m by 1m and at TG 1003 4305, 3.5m by 1.5m. The southern pits are clearly short sections of slit trench or weapons pits, dating to World War Two. The northern one is not as clear although it is likely to of a similar type.
