Full Description
December 2003. Norfolk NMP.
Earthworks of two parallel World War Two banks on RAF aerial photographs from 1946 (S1) and 1950 (S2). The purpose of these banks is not known, although they undoubted appear to be part of the World War Two activity on the heath. It is possible that they formed some sort of firing butts, although no obvious target can be identified. The northern bank runs from TG 1012 4205 to TG 1014 4205 and 15m long and 2m wide and the southern bank is from TG 1012 4200 to TG 1013 4200, measuring 13.5m and 2m.
S. Massey (NMP), 8 December 2003.
